Novel electrospun implants of Sunitinib can depress ex-vivo ocular neovascularization

چکیده
Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is one of the hallmark symptoms Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration (wAMD) and DiabeticRetinopathy(DR) which involves formation neoangiogenic i.e. new abnormal blood vessels emerging from choroidal protruding through retinal layer. The current management wAMD intravitreal injections anti-VEGF such as ranibizumab aflibercept. We hypothesized delivery small molecule anti-angiogenesis agents Sunitinib by episcleral route could be an effective less challenging solution for neovascularization. In this research, we have fabricated sunitinib-loaded implants that are able sustained release drug possess improved ocular pharmacokinetics with a non-invasive administration. novel were electrospinning tested different physiochemical well in-vitro pharmacokinetic properties. Further, these in-vitro biocompatibility ex-vivo efficacy estimation pharmacodynamic

Ex Vivo Expansion of Umbilical Cord Blood Hematopoietic Stem Cells on Collagen- Fibronectin Coated Electrospun Nano Scaffold
Background and Objective: Umbilical Cord blood (UCB) hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation is a therapeutic approach for the treatment of malignant and non-malignant hematologic disorders due to ease of collection, lack of risk for donors and lower levels of infection. Moreover, it is considered a good alternative for bone marrow HSC transplantation. The main limitation of their use is ...
متن کاملA novel in vivo model of puncture-induced iris neovascularization
PURPOSE To assess iris neovascularization by uveal puncture of the mouse eye and determine the role of angiogenic factors during iris neovascularization. METHODS Uveal punctures were performed on BalbC mouse eyes to induce iris angiogenesis. VEGF-blockage was used as an anti-angiogenic treatment, while normoxia- and hypoxia-conditioned media from retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells was use...
متن کاملTransplantation of ex vivo expanded endothelial progenitor cells for therapeutic neovascularization.
Animal studies and preliminary results in humans suggest that lower extremity and myocardial ischemia can be attenuated by treatment with angiogenic cytokines. The resident population of endothelial cells that is competent to respond to an available level of angiogenic growth factors, however, may potentially limit the extent to which cytokine supplementation enhances tissue neovascularization....
متن کاملA novel ex vivo model of equine corneal wound healing
Corneal disease is a significant cause of decreased vision or blindness in the horse worldwide. Numerous topical and systemic drugs over a prolonged period of time may be used to treat an equine corneal ulcer. Despite the high prevalence of corneal disease and ulceration in the horse, and the complexity of corneal wound healing, research is limited and more heavily devoted to in vivo studies wh...
